Thank you for visiting our website!
Welcome to the website for Christ UMC and Continental UMC in Continental Ohio. I am glad you have chosen to spend a few moments looking around, discovering our church family. As I describe the Continental Churches to people, I use words like ‘community’ and ‘family.’
We are a group of people committed to following Jesus. That means we worship him with vigor and joy. That means we encourage prayer in church and throughout life. That means we love people outside the church through generosity, invitation, and compassion.
Our hope is that all people will feel loved and welcomed at Christ and Continental UMC. And once here, we pray that people will meet God and, as a result of meeting God, give their lives to Jesus Christ. We want that for you. Come as you are. Check us out, but more importantly, seek the truth of God that can only be known when one knows Jesus.
While you are browsing our website, you will learn about our programs and get a glimpse of who we are, but only a glimpse. To fully understand us, come to a worship service or to a small group and feel the up-close, in-person fellowship that comes when people share time together with the Holy Spirit present. You can also watch a live stream of the Continental UMC on out Facebook page at 10:15 every Sunday morning.
Enjoy the website, then come. We’d love to meet you and know you.

Throughout his 3 years of ministry, Jesus showed compassion, love and mercy to all people. However, that does not mean He his message was easy. As we read through the Gospels, we find a Jesus who often had some very difficult words for his hearers – especially the religious leaders. These difficult messages led the religious leaders to look for opportunities to kill Jesus. With these difficult teachers of Jesus, it’s no wonder they crucified him.

Beginning April 5, 2023, the Putnam County Council on Aging will be sponsoring A Matter of Balance class at the continental UMC. Matter of Balance class is an evidence-based 8 week long exercise program that is taught by the Putnam County Council on Aging, the Putnam County Health Department, as well as other local organizations. Each class during the 8 week session focuses on simple exercises to increase one’s activity levels by promoting exercise to enhance balance, strength, and flexibility, and to reduce the fear of falling. 2 trained coaches lead each class, and class size is usually limited to 12, so that each participant gets sufficient guidance. To sign up for this class, please contact the Putnam County Council on aging to register.
Each week, the worship service from Continental UMC is streamed live on the Continental-Christ United Methodist Church Facebook page. If you can't make it to worship on a Sunday morning, join us online at https://www.facebook.com/continentalchristumc !
